Die Frau ohne Schatten

Animation design for the opera Richard Strauss, performed at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen
I created the 2D and 3D animation in HD for video back projections on the large PVC covering the entire background space. The visual expression of the animations were based on the drawings made by the set-designer.

Fabulative and cryptic images, sumptuous orchestral hose and wild singers. It was overwhelming.

I created the animations for HD video projectors illuminating a large back-projection PVC, using Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Cinema4D.  The rendered animations were fed to a Watch Out media server.
